Both students I am assigned to have varying levels of writing ability. One needs a scribe to help write the
words and the other needs a little adult inspired motivation. The writing process began very slowly, as we were all
sizing each other up to determine whether this would indeed be a good match. There were days I wondered if this
project would ever get off the ground, but through perserverance and continual coaxing, both students were able to find their
voice in the story they chose to write. Soon, we will all go our separate ways, but I hope that what the students and
I have shared will somehow serve as a positive experience they can revisit as a support for themselves in otherwise
uncertain living situations.
